The Writing Center provides free writing consulting services for all UCD students, faculty, and staff.

How we work : We help all UCD students, faculty and staff with all aspects of the writing process and with all types of writing projects. These include course or class assignments, class papers, multimodal (digital) work, conference presentations, posters, personal statements, articles, publications, thesis and dissertation support.
Our consultants are trained graduate (G) and undergraduate (U) students.
Appointments are reserved for an hour, but will last up to 50 minutes. They are mostly in-person.* To make an appointment, use your UC Davis single sign-on and then click on an available timeslot to reserve. You can reserve up to one appointment per day and two per week. Appointments must be reserved on the hour.
Your consultant will discuss with you what you would like to work on. Please note, we don't proofread writing, but we can always help you to learn to proofread your own work, if you would like!
Please note, if you are more than 10 minutes late to an appointment, the system might mark you as "no-show." If you have two "no-shows" please contact us at writingcenter@ucdavis.edu so we can make sure your account stays active and you can continue to make appointments with us!
